National Sleep Foundation Seminar, Washington DC , March 5-6, 2007

Lori Haller, Media Chairperson, for the KLS Foundation, attended a two day seminar in Washington, DC. The seminar was hosted by the National Sleep Foundation and the American Sleep Apnea Association. Many distinguished doctors lectured about their findings in sleep disorder research. Lori was able to speak briefly at the seminar about the suffering and frustrations of the KLS patients and their families, focusing on the extended and tedious trials before a correct diagnosis is given.

She also spoke personally with many of the leading sleep disorder researchers who were interested in KLS and in what the KLS Foundation is about. Lori handed out flyers giving the definition of KLS, the Mission Statement of the Foundation, and an article about her son Eric who has KLS. The KLS Foundation hopes that as the sleep disorder community begins to learn more about KLS it will make getting a diagnosis an easier process.
