Hi people!  From what I’ve read so far, you all sound like a wonderful group of compassionate and giving people. I am so glad to have found where my “fellow-sufferers” can be reached.  I am in my 50’s, have complained of chronic fatigue since approx. 1990 (age 35-52).  Since Oct. 2006, I haven’t worked for reasons related to my condition. It is then that I noticed that my condition presented itself in cycles of 2-3 weeks each episode, as opposed to barely being able to function when I worked, and then coming home and being able to do absolutely nothing but lie in bed, do laundry about every 3 weeks.  I recently had sudden hormonal changes since not working, don’t know if that could be related. Also, I am a nurse, and have been exposed to many microorganisms in my line of work, I also visited many patients in their homes and was exposed there as well. Since starting to see a psychiatrist, 5 years ago, I have had many med. changes. I would be happy to share my story in more detail, if anyone is curious to know which meds I took and their affects or causes of hormone imbalance, etc.
Hopefully, by sharing we may discover a commonality amongst us all, that can lead to a better understanding of the cause. I applaud all who have worked so hard to create this site, and those who continue to pour their hearts out to help others as well as themselves.
Thank you,
Donna

Hi Donna!  I just wanted to say welcome!  This site is great, isn’t it?  I found this site while sitting in the ER with my son.  His ER doc and I read almost everything on it and I was so tired that I made a mental note to come check it out when we got home.  Turns out that we know the people who run this site and never knew that they were dealing with this for so long...or at all for that matter.  It was great to find someone that not only knew about it, but experienced with it and they were just a phone call away.

My yson is 7 and is dealing with this.  We found out on accident, by the ER doc that just happened to be in town that week (She lives in NY) and his other specialists confirmed.  They all said that would have never thought about it due to his age but he also had other things going on so there was always an “excuse” for his sleeping habits.

Hope you have a great, awake day!  Talk to you soon.
