My son is 19 years old and suffers from bipolar disorder and KLS.  He takes Depakote instead of Lithium and antipyschotics also.  His KLS episodes have reduced to about 2-3 times a year but are shorter in length than they were before his diagnosis.

My son was 15 years old when he was diagnosed with bipolar and KLS.  He takes Seroquel 800 mgs.  He tried topmax and abilify but they made him nauseated and we stopped them.

My boyfriend has KLS (obviously jk) and for the past 2.5 years he was on depekot, but in the last 6 months he has decided to stop taking it since it made him feel terrible’. Since he stopped taking it, he has been episode free. I am not condoning that for everyone but so far it has worked.
